Send Thank you for signing up!	An unspoken speech on art January 29, 2010 Margaret Atwood was to give this speech the other night at an awards event but unfortunately it was not to be. If you have a minute I recommend reading it. Hiatus January 4, 2010 I hope the holidays brought you all peace, joy and love. 2009 held many great things for me including a very successful show at Wall Space Gallery, the release of New Acrylics Essential Source Book (in which you can find a statement and one of my paintings on pages 86-87) and also meeting Evelyn (owner of Halde Galerie) in person as she and her family made a stop here on their trip around the world! For the past 6 years now I have been working almost exclusively as a painter. While they have been good years they have sometimes been insanely busy and exhausting years. They have had their share of anxiety, sleepless nights and just plain hard work. All of my effort resulted in a few disappointments but many more successes and triumphs. I have met many great people and made friends that I hope to have for years. While I am brimming with ideas as usual my body needs a bit of a break. What is that you ask? Am I giving up painting?? No, not giving it up, only taking a year's hiatus. I would say I am taking a bit of art-break for 2010 but anyone who knows me knows that I can't ever stop creating things. What I will be doing is working on some non-painting projects. Some digital, some paper, some edible. Taking the time to develop new skills, explore new mediums and rejuvenate. I will continue checking my email to answer your questions and some of my work can still be found floating around Wall Space now and Halde Galerie when they reopen this summer. I will keep you posted if I create anything I think my painting fans would be interested in but there will be no new paintings available during this time. I thank you all for your continued support over the years and I hope to meet many more of you at future shows down the road!! I will leave you with a quote from one of my favourite authors: May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself. Thanks! It was a great time and I had a lot of fun meeting all of you and answering your questions.
